This session equips new faculty with the knowledge needed to safely and securely conduct research within the university environment. Topics include laboratory safety practices, hazardous materials management, radiation and laser safety, and the infrastructure that supports compliance and risk mitigation. The workshop will also provide an overview of research security, including export control regulations and requirements for restricted research, ensuring faculty understand how to protect their work, their teams, and institutional resources.
